Stade Rennais fails in quest to sign Ghana defender Alexander Djiku
Stade Rennais FC failed in its quest to sign Ghana defender Alexander Djiku before the summer transfer window ended last night.
The French Ligue 1 club had expressed interest in the centre-back and made efforts to secure his services.
Unfortunately, the team did not push enough and hence could not reach an agreement with Racing Strasbourg to sign defender Alexander Djiku.
The defender since last season has been in top shape and is currently one of the vital players in his team.
Set to stay put at Racing Strasbourg, the technical team of the club are pleased and confident he will be important for the squad of the team throughout the 2021/2022 football season.
Alexander Djiku, 27, is currently in Ghana where he is training with Black Stars teammates ahead of the matches against Ethiopia and South Africa in the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
