Stephen Appiah's son Rodney joins Great Olympics training ahead of new GPL season

Rodney Appiah, the son of former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, has begun preseason training with Great Olympics ahead of the start of the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season.

Appiah, who was promoted to the senior team last season, hopes to get into the first-team group this season.

Last season, he made his Ghana Premier League debut against Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium on matchday 22, which his team won 2-0.

Rodney was recruited by Great Olympics from KingStep FC in the second transfer window after excelling on trials.

Rodney Appiah is extremely talented, much like his father, and aspires to outperform him. He took part in the club’s pre-season friendlies.
