SV Werder Bremen sells Jonah Osabutey
SV Werder Bremen was also active on the deadline day. After the signing of Mitchell Weiser, something is happening on the exit side. Jonah Osabutey, who had no prospects with the first team anyway, is moving to Belgium again.
The 22-year-old offensive player is moving permanently to the Belgian first division club KV Kortrijk. Before that, he was loaned to OH Leuven, where he was unable to assert himself due to an injury.
In the 2018–19 season, Osabutey scored 12 goals and made 2 assists in 27 matches for the Werder Bremen reserves.
In June 2019, he extended his contract with Werder Bremen before joining Belgian First Division A side Royal Excel Mouscron on loan for the 2019–20 season.
“Jonah had injury problems in Leuven and couldn’t play there. He had been rehab in Bremen since winter and now he has another opportunity to start over in Belgium. We wish him all the best for his future career,” said Frank Baumann on the deal.
