SWAG charges Hearts of Oak to beat Wydad Casablanca on Sunday

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has charged Hearts of Oak to defeat Wydad Athletic Club in the return fixture of the CAF Champions League in Morocco.

The Phobians goes into the reverse fixture with a 1-0 advantage and will hope for a favourable scoreline to secure qualification to the group stages of the Champions League.

The Ghanaian giants inflicted a 1-0 win over their opponents last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Isaac Mensah’s 41st minute strike was enough for the Phobians to record an important victory on home turf.

The winner of both legs will progress to the money zone whereas the loser drops to the CAF Confederations Cup.

A statement signed by SWAG President, Kwabena Yeboah, entreats the Phobians to hold on to your own against the Moroccan giants to secure qualification to the money zone.

“You exhibited your famous ‘Never Say Die’ character in the first leg against the tough Moroccan side, and resilience ensured a deserved home victory even by a slim margin.

“Even though it was not a very comfortable win, we are assured by the great improvement you have made as a team under your coach Samuel Boadu that you have the pedigree and what it takes to put up an improved performance in Casablanca and hold your own against the home side in Sunday,” the statement said.
