U-20 AFCON: Karim Zito left smiling following $5k cash gift from President Akuffo Addo
Ghana President H. E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo has promised to gift an amount of $5000 to Black Satellites Head Coach Abdul Karim Zito.
The master tactician was at his nest as masterminded Ghana’s conquest of the rest of Africa at the recently ended U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Mauritania.
Fresh from winning the WAFU Zone B Championship, Zito steered the ship amidst a barrage of criticism to lead Ghana to win the trophy.
The president’s promise comes after the gallant Ghana U-20 side visited him at the Flagstaff House to present to him the trophy won at the showpiece in Mauritania.
Coach Abdul Karim Zito’s Black Satellites defeated Uganda 2 nil on Saturday’s final to win the ultimate, a first for Ghana since 2009, and fourth overall.
As a congratulatory gesture, the President, Nana Akuffo Addo has pledged to gift him an amount of $5000.
