Video: African legends Asamoah Gyan, Okocha, Adebayor, Diouf beat George Oppong Weah’s XI in charity match
George Oppong Weah’s XI suffered a defeat at the hands of African legends made of Asamoah Gyan, Jayjay Okocha, Emmanuel Adebayor and El Hadji Diouf during the ceremony of the Invincible Sports Park in Liberia.
The African legends inflicted a 4-3 victory over President Oppong Weah’s XI.
Adebayor opened the scoring for the African legends before Senegalese star, El Hadji Diouf added the second goal.
But a defensive blunder from Adebayor gifted George Weah’s side an opportunity to pull one back in the game.
Diouf scored his second goal of the match to make to make it 3-1 after dispatching a pass from Okocha.
President George Weah scored two goals to restore parity for his side but the African Legends showed their dominance as they carried the day with another goal despite missing a penalty.
The Invincible Sports Park is a new sports centre built by President George Weah’s government.
