Watch GPL highlights as Frank Mbella double sees Kotoko overcome Olympics with ease
Cameroonian striker Frank Mbella netted a brace on Friday to power Asante Kotoko to hammer Great Olympics 2-0 in the Ghana Premier League.
The Kumasi-based club welcomed the matchday 15 opponent of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
In a game projected to present a difficult task for both teams, the home team had an explosive start and could have even had the lead in the first five minutes.
Although it would delay, Asante Kotoko did finally score in the 10th minute. A penalty awarded to the team was scored by in-form striker Frank Mbella as the hosts deservedly took control of the game.
Later in the game, the Cameroonian import found himself in a good position in the Great Olympics area in the 34th minute. One on one with the goalkeepers, he fired his shot against the goal post before it bounced off the goalkeeper and into the net.
With that lead at halftime, Asante Kotoko managed the game in the second half and cruised to an important 2-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.
