WCQ2022: Predicting Otto Addo's lineup for Nigeria duel

The Black Stars of Ghana play host to Nigeria later today in a 2022 FIFA World Cup Playoff tie.

The face-off between the two sides is a first leg encounter in this all-important affair that decides one of five African representatives at the World Cup in Qatar.

The nature of the game means Coach Otto Addo will need to select a solid team to start for the Black Stars as they aim to improve their chances of qualifying right from the scratch.

As per the observations of FMIG, we have put together a list of players we’re convinced will start the game for Ghana.

The selections have been informed by what transpired at training especially on Thursday which was the last day of preparations.

Following his return from injury, Goalkeeper Richard Ofori has proven healthy and highly motivated ahead of this fixture.

He was very much involved during training on Thursday and we tip him to start.

Dennis Odoi is set to make his Ghana debut by starting at right full-back with Andy Yiadom dropping to the bench. Gideon Mensah will slot in at left full-back while the duo of Daniel Amartey and Alexander Djiku will hold down the central defensive positions.

In midfield, Baba Iddrisu, and Thomas Partey will form a double pivot while Mohammed Kudus operates as the more offensive option.

In attack, Jordan Ayew will lead the lines ably supported on the flanks by Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Felix Afena Ohene-Gyan.

Ghana will lineup in a 4-3-3 formation.

The game takes place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at 7:30pm GMT.
