We played a very difficult game in very difficult circumstances – Hugo Broos on Ghana defeat
The head coach of the South Africa national team, Hugo Broos has noted that the defeat to Ghana was a difficult match played in very difficult circumstances.
Nicknamed the Bafana Bafana, the national team of South Africa suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Black Stars at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday night.
In what was a final Group G encounter of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ghana ended up winning the group to advance to the final round of the qualifiers.
Speaking after the game, Hugo Broos congratulated Ghana and admitted that it was a tough contest for his outfit.
“I congratulate Ghana for qualification for the next round but I also have to congratulate my team also because we played a very difficult game in very difficult circumstances,” the Bafana Bafana coach said after the game.
He added, “We played against an opponent who was very aggressive and the referee allowed them to play like that, so it was very difficult for us to get a good result here today but, again, when you see what we did in the last three months, I’m very proud about my team.”
