We will prove that Ghana v South Africa match was manipulated – SAFA
The South Africa Football Association (SAFA) says it is seeking to prove that the match between South Africa and Ghana was manipulated.
SAFA on Monday formally filed a complaint to FIFA asking that the match where the Bafana Bafana lost 1-0 to the Black Stars the previous day should be replayed.
At a press conference, SAFA president Danny Jordaan said his outfit believes the match officials for the day favored Ghana to win the match.
“What we are focusing on is manipulation of the course of the match, which impacts on the result of the match, either by an act or omission and that is what we have been able to prove and that should suffice for Fifa to make a finding on this matter without requiring any additional material,” The SAFA boss said.
With FIFA acknowledging receipt of the complaint, it has asked the Ghana FA to respond to the allegations before November 20.
The GFA After that directive issued a statement today noting that it is ready to comply with with FIFA.
A FIFA Disciplinary Committee will hear the matter on November 23.
