Women’s FA Cup : Ampem Darkoa 1-0 Thunder Queens- Sonia Opoku’s goal set up a final with Hasaacas Ladies
Northern zone champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies left it late to secure a final place in the MTN FA Cup with a 1-0 win against Thunder Queens.
An extra time goal from Sonia Opoku was enough to send the Nana Mma to th final of the competition on Monday.
The game which was rained off on Sunday lived up the expectation as both side’s sold a beautiful game at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.
No goal was scored in the regulation time as Thunder Queens forced the game to go into extra time.
The host kept pushing and were rewarded with a goal two minutes into the extra time, Sonia Opoku capitalized from a lose mark in the Penalty box to score the only goal of the game.
Ampem Darkoa defended gallantly till the blast of the final whistle.
The Techiman based side will now face Southern Zone Champions Hasaacas Ladies who defeated Supreme Ladies at the Wesco Park.
