Words will certainly not be enough but we are sorry – Alexander Djiku issues apology to Ghanaians
Ghana defender, Alexander Djiku has offered an apology to Ghanaians on behalf of the Black Stars for the team’s poor showing at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The centre-back featured in all three matches for Ghana at the ongoing tournament in Cameroon.
Unfortunately, after the Black Stars failed to win three matches, the team has been eliminated from the group stage of the 2021 AFCON.
In a Twitter post today, Alexander Djiku says just like every Ghanaian, players are also disappointed.
“Words will certainly not be enough to erase the frustration.
“We are disappointed and also sorry for our Ghanaian people to have failed at this stage of the competition,” Alexander Djiku said in his post.
He continues in his post, “We must stay focused because qualifying for the World Cup must motivate us more than anything.”
The player has been described as Ghanaians as one of the standout players in the Black Stars team as the 2021 AFCON.
