World Cup qualifiers : CK Akonnor explains exclusion of Razak Abalora
Ghana Black Stars head coach CK Akonnor has explained the reason behind his decision to exclude goalkeeper Razak Abalora from the 2020 World Cup Qualifiers squad to face Ethiopia and South Africa.
The coach on Friday named his 30 man squad for Ghana’s upcoming games in September.
Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora was surprisingly dropped for Hearts of Oak’s Richard Atta.
Explaining his decision at a press conference, the coach insists Abalora is part of his team but need a break to wake up from his slumber.
“Sometimes you need that break to wake up and know that there is a big deal going on”
“He is still part of our team, he is not out” he added.
Razak Abalora ended the season in a disappointing manner with his club as they missed out on the league and the FA Cup.
