World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac opens up on the importance of beating South Africa on Sunday
Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has stressed the importance of getting a win on Sunday when they lock horns with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars will play host to the Bafana Bafana at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
The Black Stars were held to a 1-1 draw at the Orlando stadium in Johannesburg in the penultimate qualifier last Thursday.
The four-time African Champions must, however, beat South Africa at all cost in the final group game to secure qualification to the final playoffs.
South Africa has extended their lead in Group G after inflicting a 1-0 win over Zimbabwe at the FnB stadium on Thursday.
They sit top of the table with 13 points with Ghana at the second spot with 10 points.
A win for Ghana will see the West African powerhouse earning a spot in the final playoffs to be played in March 2022.
“First, I want to congratulate my boys for fighting hard and I want to congratulate the Ethiopian team for a really good performance today.
“They deserve this result; we had some problems with our defence especially today. We made some mistakes so after all everything will be decided on Sunday.”
“For us, it is important to win our next match on Sunday with two goal difference if we want to qualify for the final round of the qualifications for the World Cup,” he said after draw against Ethiopia.
The much-anticipated game will played at 7pm on Sunday at the Cape Coast stadium.
