World Cup Qualifiers: Thirteen players trained today ahead of Ethiopia and South Africa games

Black Stars started their intensive training on Monday, ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and Bafana Bafana.

Thirteen players trained at the McDan Park which is located in La. Coach CK Akonnor took the boys through a one hour drill with goalkeepers coach Richard Kingston and GFA Technical Director Bernhard Lippert monitoring the training.

The players who turned up today for training are, youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, captain Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Emmanuel Lomotey, Samuel Owusu, goalkeeper Richard Attah, Abdul Baba Rahman, Emmanuel Gyasi, Jonathan Mensah, goalkeeper Richard Ofori and Ismail Ganiyu.

CK Akonnor added new names to the initial 30 man squad due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and injuries to some key members of the team.

Joseph Aidoo, Braydon Manu and Daniel Kofi Kyereh have been drafted into the team for the World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana is scheduled to host Group G opponents Ethiopia on Friday, September 3 in Cape Coast, before playing South Africa on Monday, September 6, 2021, in Johannesburg respectively.
