WPL Week 4 Review: Berry Ladies maintain unbeaten run as Immigration struggles to pick a win

The Ghana Women’s Premier League is gradually gathering storm with Berry Ladies continuing their winning ways after 4 weeks of entertaining clashes.T

The headliner of the week was the encounter between Police Ladies and Berry ladies at the McDan La Town Park.

Berry Ladies managed to defeat Police Ladies at their door step by 2 – 1.

A header from Faustina Akpo put Berry Ladies ahead but Victoria Williams Teye cancelled the lead before the break.

Berry Ladies kept breaking into the defence of Police Ladies and were awarded a penalty which was converted by Thelma Baffour Awuah to ensure their 4th  consecutive win as league leaders.

Thunder Queens welcomed Immigration Ladies to the Tema Community 8 Park to record a 1-1 draw, both teams are without a win after 4 matches.

The home side had the opener through in-form Elizabeth Oppong in the 46th minute but failed to defend the lead as Ruminatu Tahiru’s 56th minute strike brought Immigration Ladies at par.

Elizabeth Oppong was named PoTM, taking her tally to 3 in 4 league games.

Kumasi Sports Academy lost 1-0 to visitors, Prisons Ladies, thanks to Abigail Tutuwaah’s 59th-minute strike.

This is the second consecutive time KuSA have failed to get a point at home placing them 7th on the league table with Prisons taking the 2nd position with 7 points.  Helena Obeng of Prisons Ladies won the PoTM award.

At the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium was a Northern Derby which saw Pearlpia Ladies took the lead through Hikima Zuberu’s 44th minute rebound goal.

Jafara Rahama who was named PoTM found the equaliser for Northern Ladies after recess to split points.

Hasaacas Ladies travelled to Ajumako Asassan Park to snatch all 3 points from Soccer Intellectuals kind courtesy a Milot Pokua’s late strike. They sit 2nd on the league log with 10 points.
