Youngster Rak-Sakyi promoted to Crystal Palace first team

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, an English-born Ghanaian teen midfielder, has been promoted to Crystal Palace’s first team team ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The 18-year-old has been with Crystal Palace youth team since 2019 and has been praised for his hard work and performances last season.

He began training with the Crystal Palace first team earlier today at St. George’s Park, where he is coached by Patrick Vieira.

In March, the midfielder scored his first goal for Crystal Palace Under-23s against Leeds United. He had a fantastic season with Crystal Palace’s youth teams, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

In 2020/21, he appeared four times for the Crystal Palace Development squad and made 12 Under-18s appearances, scoring six goals for Paddy McCarthy’s team.

Former Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson named him to the team’s squad list for the final game of the 2020/21 season against Liverpool, where he sat on the bench.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who was born in London to Ghanaian parents, is qualified to represent Ghana or England
