“Did you really write this?” – Manasseh reacts to Gabby’s comment on Aisha Huang’s arrest

Celebrated Investigative Journalist and Editor of the Fourth Estate, Manasseh Awuni Azuri has slammed New Patriotic Party Member and Founder of Dankwa Institute, Gabby Otchere Darko following a comment he made about the arrest of galamsey kingpin Aisha Huang.

Mr Otchere Darko has questioned in a Facebook, post the seeming stress of the Ghanaian public over the return of the galamsey linchpin who was deported some four years ago.

According to him, even in the United Kingdom, illegal migrant including black African sneaks in.

“Why do we love to overbash ourselves? Even in island UK illegal immigrants (Black Africans included) sneak in. She’s been caught and under arrest; there our system worked. Vote for a 2024 manifesto which promises you a wall across our borders,”Mr Otchere Darko’s post sighted by GhanaPlus.com.

But reacting to the comment, Mr Azuri who could not believe such was coming from the renowned politician, questioned if Mr Otchere Darko was the one behind the post .

He also questioned if he indeed sees nothing wrong with the returned of the woman who had caused so much damage to the Ghana’s forest through her illegal activities.

Mr Azuri mentioned, Ms Huang won’t be able to perpetrate the crimes she committed in the UK and have the opportunity to re-enter the country adding that things of such sought rob the black race of the little respect we have.

To the renowned and multiple award-winning Journalist,This is a new low for Ghana. It is one of the days anyone with a modicum of shame should be ashamed of being a Ghanaian”

“Did you really write this? I saw it somewhere and thought it was photoshopped so I came here to confirm. Do you really see nothing wrong with this? This is not just an illegal migrant who sneaked into the country for heaven’s sake. We at The Fourth Estate made an RTI request to Prisons Service for the nationalities of people in our prisons. We realised that only two Chinese were in our prisons despite the fact that hundreds of them had been arrested for illegal mining. The prison authorities did not say whether the only two Chinese in our prisons were jailed for illegal mining. They could have been there for something else.

“Within the same period the Chinese were arrested for illegal mining and set free, hundreds of Ghanaians, Nigerians and other Africans were arrested in Ghana and jailed. This woman was arrested for sponsoring the massive destruction of our forests. Your government let her go away while you imprisoned hundreds of your citizens and fellow Africans for milder illegal mining offences”.

“And you’re justifying this? Sir, things like this rob the black race of the little respect we have. She won’t do this in China and get away with it. A Ghanaian won’t get away with a tenth of what she did here. She won’t do this in the UK and have the opportunity to re-enter. This is a new low for Ghana. It is one of the days anyone with a modicum of shame should be ashamed of being a Ghanaian”.
