Four Health facilities get institutional latrine in Sagnarigu municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive Officer for Sagnarigu constituency, Honourable Yakubu Ahmed Mohammed has delivered a keynote speech on the occasion of the visit of the United State Ambassador to Bog-kurugu a farming community in northern region

The MCE welcomed the Ambassador, Virginia Palmer, and the team to the Sagnarigu Municipality.

“The euphoria that greeted the US Ambassador and his team, and excitement of the people is as the result of the immense support of the US Government through USAID”. he said.

Mr. Yakubu Ahmed Mohammed took his time to catalogue the key achievements chalked so far through the assistance of the USAID support under Resilience in Northern Ghana( RING-1) project.

The projects include, the improvement of social cohesion in some communities within the municipal

Also, the wellbeing of women and their households through the Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA) were improved.

He further started that, business development, education of children, healthcare and household food security could not be left out because it forms part in community development.

In order to prevent spreading of diseases, two hundred and five (205) hand washing facilities were installed in the communities.

Again, Eleven (11) boreholes drilled in Seven (7) communities and 4 institutional latrines in 4 health facilities the communities that benefited include Sorugu, Malshegu, Dungu and Shishegu

Under the WASH Project, Twenty five (25) communities have been selected to benefit from it.

“ We are poised to unlock the economic potentials of the municipality and we are hopeful of the continuous support of the United States Government”.
