Martha inspires foundation: Over 500 people benefited from breast cancer screening exercise.

More than 500 people of Katariga, Kumbuyili, and Tampe-Kukuo in the Sagnarigu Municipal have benefited from free breast cancer screening exercise organised by the Martha Inspires Foundation.

Beneficiaries were educated on the need to always take care of their breast to detect early signs and symptoms to prevent them from breast cancer.

In addition, beneficiaries were again educated on how to use newly bought brasiers in other not to heap their breast which is likely to cause the cancer.

The beneficiaries were women and men and were in collaboration Walk4Tities, both are non-governmental organisations.

Professional medical doctors were brought from the Northern Regional Hospital to undertake the exercise.

The Productions Manager of Martha Inspires Foundation, Mustapha Latifa said that the exercise seeks to create awareness of breast cancer and its early signs and symptoms to help parents from using huge income to seek medication.

She added that the exercise forms part of the foundation’s social cooperate responsibility to give back to society to ensure good healthy living conditions.

“October is breast cancer month and we need to educate people on how to take proper care of their health, especially their breast,” she said.

She reiterated the foundation’s unwavering commitment to support efforts aimed at stemming the breast cancer scourge among Ghanaians, especially women.

She said increased awareness, screening, advocacy, and support would go a long way to reduce the incidence of breast cancer in the country.

Ms.Latifa advised women to make it a habit to check their breasts regularly to detect unusual changes in their breasts.

“We want them to check their breast to know if everything is fine, and if it is not, we will encourage them to seek early treatment so that their health does not decline,” she said.

Beneficiaries thank the organisation for coming to their aid for helping them to understand breast cancer.
