Ghanaian Schools reopens this month

Students from various levels of the Ghanaian educational sector will return to school in mid-January 2021, after months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Graphiconline report the information was disclosed by sources within government.

According to the report, the decision for the reopening of the schools was reached at a cabinet meeting chaired by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Wednesday and would be soon made known to the public.

“The exact resumption date is unclear yet but the sources say it could be any date from 12th to 19th January, and will mark a return from the long, Covid-19 inspired schools closure by government,” the report said.

COVID-19 Ghana schools closed

The President Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo Addo in March last year as part of measures to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic announced the closure of schools for all levels of the educational ladder.

Others, including final years, University, Senior High, Junior High students were however allowed to reopen to complete their academic year.

Some second SHS students also were granted same to complete their semesters.
