Green Connect Launches 2023 Farming Season In Yendi.

GreenConnect has today launched the 2023 Farming Season In Yendi on the Theme; Right input, Right timing, and Right application.

Speaking to Farmers at the Launch the Executive director, Elorm Goh of Green Connect elaborated that, this year their focus is not only on the three Rs which are ‘Right Input, Right Timing and Right Application. But also to focus on the results. Thus, right input, Right timing, Right Application and right result.

“Everyone present here today must be proud of being part for supporting a course that’s getting farmers ready for a new season. Therefore it’s not surprising that our theme for this launch is ‘Right Input, Right Timing and Right Application’ but this time around our focus is on the result.

She said, agriculture is full of uncertainty and many will agree to her that, farmers are the most affected people or group due to their vulnerability they are exposed to. ‘ In order for formers to be able to succeed in their Farming, they need access to the right input, Right information and the right way of application in order to get a good result at the end of the season.

She furthermore stated that, the company has established about twenty centers across the five Northern Region with Green Connect is very proud of. She believes that, the support and activities of Green Connect will reach over 10, 000 Farmers in the five Northern Regions in all categories of farmers.

The launch activities will be classted in 12 projects areas which includes Tamale, Yendi , Tumu , Gusheigu, Salaga Funsi and others. Madam Elorm said that, they are ready to train one thousand women this season. They will also give them mentorship, register their business and give them access to market. She however thank MOFA for their continues support.

The director of MOFA for Yendi Municipal Alhaji Mohammed Abukari who was a guest of honor of at launch of the Green Connect encouraged farmer and asked them to seize the opportunity and learn how to use agriculture machineries.

He stressed that, when there is good production and high yield of farm inputs, there won’t be hunger in the country. He applauded Green Connect for their initiative as it goes a long way to implement the sustainable goal one and goal two which aim is to make sure that, there are poverty reduction, high yield of crops and zero hunger.

“Agricultural touches all the developments goals and anything that has come to improve the productivity is directly contributing to the Yendi Municipality ability to achieve the sustainable goals”
He however strengthen that, farmers should not use the wrong machines for their farms as every machine has it purpose in which it was being manufactured for.

Other partners at the launch are, Rainbow, Agrow Sciences, Meda, Demiter, Heritage Seed and host others.
