Sekondi-Takoradi MCE’s case adjourned to May 5, audio recording to be played in next meeting
The court case involving the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Abdul Issah Mumin has been adjourned to May 5.
This comes after he was arrested on Thursday, February 3, for an alleged motor traffic offence, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer who was performing his lawful duty.
The alleged motor traffic offence and verbal assault against a public officer are been trialled separately.
Six (6) witnesses are to appear in court to testify against the MCE in the next meeting on these trials.
Also, the judge presiding over the Takoradi Harbour Court, Justice Michael Cudjoe Ampadu, has requested that an audio that was recorded during the heated moment between the MCE and the said police officer be played before the court.

The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) was arrested by the Western Regional Police Command.
According to reports, Mr Abdul Mumin Issah was arrested on Thursday, February 3, 2022, for an alleged motor traffic offence, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer who was performing his lawful duty.
The MCE has been charged on three (3) counts, assault on a public officer, offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace and disturbing the peace in a public place.
He has also been charged for dangerous driving.
Further information states that he was driving a Nissan Patrol vehicle with registration number GE 5615 – 20 and is alleged to have driven dangerously and carelessly while approaching a police checkpoint at the Kwesimintsim Cemetery on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
This was after one of the police officers tried to stop him which he verbally assaulted and threatened him.
