The youth of Guntingli organize communal labour on non-partisan politics.


The youth of Guntingli a suburb of Yendi in the northern region has organized communal labour to filled up potholes on the an abundoned Tamale-Guntimgli road project.

According to the youth, this comes in consultation with traditional and opinion leaders in the area.

The road post danger to pedestrians at this raining season and has made a lot of people to start dodging the road and that is the only road connecting to Yendi and Gushegu.

The constructor left the side since early 2021 without giving any information to the residents in the community. The road is now in it sorry state.A resident lament

It is good to come out and help ourselves before anybody else can come to our aid and it is the only road that we those in the community use and go to work to earned a living. Wadud said

According Kamaldeen, a resident they are doing this communal labour to show they leaders that the road project needs continuity.

The road post danger to pregnant woman whenever they are to go for antenatal care and also does not help when sending death body to the grave side for burial the kind of potholes that the go through is not good at all.

Upon all what had happened the youth were not doing it on partisanship the were doing for the purpose of developing the area and to show the leadership of the ruling government (NPP) in the municipality that the project has been abundoned for long.

The assembly woman for the Guntingli electra area was not aware of the said communal labour but she has applaud the youth for such gesture.

The youth therefore called on the district chief executive, Abubakari Ahamed Yussif and the member of Parliament Hon. Farouk Aliu Mahama to as a matter of agency called the constructor back to work.
