Credit for CCTV installations already taken by IGP, you can’t claim same – NDC Communicator tells Bawumia

The Savanna Regional Communication’s Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Malik Basintale has lashed out at the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for touting the installation of CCTV cameras as one of his achievements.

Speaking on TV3 NewDay on Wednesday, November 3, he said that credit had duly been given to the Inspector General of Police, IGP George Akufo Dampare hence he could no longer claim same.

Mr Basintale was of the view, sooner than later Dr Bawumia would take credit for every achievement of the Ghana Police Service including the dogs unleashed on the streets of the country by the service.

“The Vice President boldly boasted that they have installed CCTV cameras around the country. Look these are achievement the IGP had been taking credit for. These are things that the Police Service had been taking credit for and so if a whole Vice President will be competing with an IGP on such credit then in other terms, sooner than later, he would soon be bragging of ensuring that we have dogs on our roads guarding us,” Mr Basintale said.

He was speaking about Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s lecture at Ashesi University on Tuesday, November 2 on Ghana’s digitization transformation.
