It’s your business if you want to vote for NDC in 2024 – President tells Ghanaians

Vida Essel-LampteyPresident, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said he is unperturbed if Ghanaians decide to vote for the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) come December 2024 election.
The President made the comment while responding to threat by residents of Kwabre and Manso in the Ashanti Region to vote against the New Patriotic Party led government if they do not fix deplorable roads in the area.
The residents made the threat in a questioned posed to the President on their behalf in an interview at Otec FM in the Ashanti Region.
I am not frightened by your threat – President
But responding to the question, the President said the threat is of no relevance.
According to him, the responsibility to vote for or against any party lies solely with the individual hence he couldn’t be bothered about it adding “Nobody holds your hands to cast your vote, it is your own job”
“No problem, no problem, Am saying people make those kind of threats, me they don’t frighten me because yes somebody votes for you, somebody support you is because they want you to do things for them so I understand that,” Akufo-Addo said.
“There is no need for people to say if I don’t do it this and that, that one is your own business….. If it comes that in the election if you decide to vote for the NDC that is your own business, that is not mine business. Nobody holds your hands to cast your vote, it is your own job,” the President said in a viral video sighted by GhanaPlus.com.
I will fix Kwabre, Manso roads
He however, said his government will fix the Kwabre and Manso roads, the threat regardless because they understand the responsibility handed them when they were voted into power.
The President said “The important thing is that I understand the responsibility and I will deal with it”.
“Of cause i will do it” Akufo-Addo answered when asked by the host if he will fix the roads.
The People of Kwabre and Manso in the Ashanti Region, a strong hold of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) is confronted with bad roads affecting transportation system and business and life in the area in general.
