The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tamale North Constituency, Mr Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has descended heavily on Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency, Mr Kennedy Agyapong following his supposed disappearance from the country in the midst of the Privileges Committee summon over his threat on the life of JoyNews journalist.
Speaking on TV3 NewDay on Thursday, August 5, monitored by GhanaPlus.com he said the Assin Central MP seem to him as a coward to have traveled outside the country instead of facing up to the Privileges Committee of Parliament which he had been referred to.
He said as until last night, the MP had not been served the summon to appear before the Committee because he was out of the country adding the committee had not been able to fine him.
“Number of people have reached out to me since yesterday to find out if I will be appearing before the Privileges Committee because of the matter involving Kennedy Agyapong, unfortunately it seems to that the man is a coward, he has been away for some time now, the committee hasn’t been able to find him to serve him yet”.
He maintained the popular and loud MP was a coward and would only show up at his comfort zone and show bravery.
“That how I see it, that how I see it, he said worst things about me but I just think that he is a coward”, Suhuyini said when he was quizzed if referring to Mr Agyapong as a coward was not unfair.
“It is parliamentary work, we must meet on the floor and go through the processes that are required for us to go through. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been available and so the committee has to reschedule the whole sitting. Late last night I got a call from the committee that they haven’t been able to reach him because he is out of the country. They were expecting him sometime yesterday or two days ago but he still hasn’t show up. I believe he will show up again and go to his comfort zone and show bravery,” he said.
