Vida Essel-LampteyThe Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tamale North Constituency, Mr Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has said the Privileges Committee of Parliament is yet to serve the Member of Parliament for the Assin Central , Mr Kennedy Agyapong an invitation to appear before it over his threat on JoyNews Journalist, Mr Erasmus Donkor.
That he said was because the Assin Central MP seem to had gone into hiding making it impossible for the committee to serve him.
He revealed all attempt by the 31-member Privileges Committee to serve him had proved futile because the MP was said to have traveled out of the country.
Mr Suhuyini made the revelation on TV3 NewDay on Thursday, August 5, monitored by GhanaPlus.com.
“A number of people have reached out to me since yesterday to find out if I will be appearing before the privileges committee because of the matter involving Kennedy Agyapong, unfortunately it seems to that the man is a coward, he has been away for some time now the committee hasn’t been able to find him to serve him yet,” he said.
“It is parliamentary work ,we must meet on the floor and go through the processes that are required for us to go through. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been available and so the committee has to reschedule the whole sitting. Late last night, I got a call from the committee that they haven’t been able to reach him because he is out of the country. They were expecting him sometime yesterday or two days ago but he still hasn’t show up. I believe he will show up again and go to his comfort zone and show bravery” he said.
