Reject 2022 budget – Bernard Mornah tells Parliament

Political activist and former National Chairman of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Mr Bernard Mornah has called on Parliament to reject the 2022 budget.

That he said was because the budget as presented had no hope for the suffering Ghanaian in anyway.

Mr Mornah made the call on Pan African TV‘s Good Morning Africa on Friday, November 19, monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

According to him, the crippling fiscal policy contained in the budget should be enough reasons for parliament to take the bold decision and ask government to re-present it.

…Sincerely this is not the kind of parliament that has capacity to reject a budget and therefore they can do what they want to do because they know it will pass. Otherwise, let the budget be rejected let them re-present the budget because the many crippling fiscal policy ideas are in this budget alone should be the reasons for which the budget should be rejected” There is no hope, Mr Mornah.

“In this same budget, the government is telling us that all the youth programmes they are running are useless, starting from the National Entrepreneurship and Innovative Programme, National Youth Employment programme, to the Nations Builders Corp, the government is telling us that they are useless,” he added.
