It’s time to tax Churches in Ghana
Award-winning Ghanaian Rapper Kwaw Kese known in real life as Emmanuel Kofi Botwe believes the time is ripe to tax Churches in the country.
According to him, Pastors are one of the people in the country who make a lot of money and taxing them will provide the country with some income to help address development issues.
Kwaw Kesse said Pastors use monies they make to live lavishly at the expense of their congregants who might be suffering.
Therefore, government should relook into issues about the church and start taking taxes to boost the country’s revenue.
“I know what I’ve said some Pastors will come and make doom prophecies against me but it doesn’t make sense that in Ghana, people are hungry but the Pastor has built mansions and has a lot of cars to their credit meanwhile, people are hungry,” he said on Kingdom Plus FM.
When you are in traffic you will get sad. Kids as young as 2 years they are in traffic begging. When have you heard that a Church has said that it will provide shelter for all these homeless individuals?”
The Rapper called on the President to close down 80% of Churches in Ghana because there cannot be a country where Churches outnumber factories that will provide jobs in the country.
