2021/22 CAF CL: Lower your expectations – Frimpong Manso tells Hearts of Oak fans
Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko gaffer Frimpong Manso has called on Hearts of Oak supporters to lower their expectations in the upcoming Africa campaign.
The Phobians emerged as champions of the Ghana Premier League title and will represent Ghana in the 2021/22 CAF Champions League competition.
A session of the club supporters have tipped the Phobians to win the covetous trophy by emulating the 2000 and 2004 squad.
But according to Frimpong Manso, it will be prudent for the club fans to lower their expectations ahead of the campaign.
He insisted the club cannot annex the trophy as he strongly believes it will take time for the club to achieve such feat.
“What Hearts of Oak seeks to achieve in the upcoming Champions League is the most important thing but to think of winning the trophy this year is not possible”
“Now, they have won the league and qualify for the competition and at the moment, at least they have seen the level of their players and then the position to augment”
“They should not give themselves unnecessary pressure of winning Africa. If they think of winning it, the team will be under pressure. They should plan for Africa; it took the club 11-years to win the league and so to win Africa will require sometime” he added.
