Contract of ex-Hearts midfielder Benjamin Afutu terminated at Egyptian club Eastern Company SC
Egyptian club, Eastern Company SC has terminated the contract of former Hearts of Oak midfielder Benjamin Afutu.
The Ghanaian midfield powerhouse joined the Egyptian club from the Phobians last season.
Before leaving Ghana, there were efforts from Hearts of Oak for a contract extension deal but he refused.
Subsequently, after joining Eastern Company SC, Benjamin Afutu’s name went missing as he struggled for playing time at Eastern Company SC.
After just nine months, the contract of the once highly-rated Hearts of Oak midfielder has been terminated.
The officials of Eastern Company SC have not been impressed with the displays of the combative midfielder and hence the decision to cut short what would have been a three-year stay in Egypt.
Sources say Benjamin Afutu has already arrived in Ghana and hoping to find a club before the start of next season.
Information gathered indicates that there is the possibility of training with Hearts of Oak to try and stay fit whiles at home.
