Ghana 2021 Afcon squad: Ghana FA admits Kudus Mohammed might miss Afcon
Mohammed Kudus, according to the Ghana Football Association, may miss the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in 2022.
Milovan Rajevac included the former FC Nordsjaelland player to his provisional squad for the pre-AFCON training trip in Doha, Qatar.
Ajax, on the other hand, is unwilling to release the player due to his repeated injuries this year, claiming he isn’t totally fit and ready for the tournament.
Henry Asante Twum revealed that it is not over for Kudus Mohammed as to whether he would be in the final squad or not, but that the decision will be made in the best interests of the player.
“Kudus is not ruled out of the AFCON yet. It is still 50-50. We are in contact with Ajax and we will make a decision in the best interest of the player,” he told Asempa FM.
According to reports in the local media coach Milovan Rajevac will announce the final squad for the AFCON on Thursday.
