Ghanaian-born Canadian Richie Laryea scores high ratings in Canada win over USA in World Cup qualifiers

Ghanaian-born Canadian Richie Laryea put a splendid performance for Canada in their famous win against the United State of America in the World Cup qualifiers.

The enterprising right-back earned high ratings as Canada defeated USA 2-0 to secure their first win over their rivals since 2019 and the first in a World Cup Qualifier since 1980. Cyle Larin and Sam Adekugbe goals settled the encounter.

The Nottingham Forest new signing lasted the entire duration for his side.

Canada are currently on top of their World Cup group and will be dreaming of heading off to Qatar for the biggest soccer mundial later this year.

The MLS official website analysed his performance saying, “Laryea showed plenty of energy in midfield and occasionally got into dangerous spots going forward, but not a ton of finishing product.

“Still, a solid all-around performance from the newfound Nottingham Forest man.”

Canada will play El Savador on Thursday in the World Cup qualifiers.

Laryea signed for Forest during the January transfer window but he is yet to make an appearance due to international break.
