Goalkeeping legend backs Odartey Lamptey to save sinking Sharks
Former national goalkeeper George Owu has backed Nii Odartey Lamptey to save Elmina Sharks’ season in the Ghana Premier League.
Odartey Lamptey took charge of the Elmina-based Premier League outfit few weeks ago, replacing Yaw Acheampong whose coaching setup has been collapsed by the club’s hierarchy.
Odartey recorded a win in his first game in charge; coming in a home game against Asante Kotoko.
George Owu, who has had experiences with Asante Kotoko, AshantiGold SC and Sekondi Hasaacas is positive that Odartey Lamptey is best for Sharks since he has the football brains.
“I’m very sure if all goes well, Nii Odartey Lamprey will be able steer affairs for Sharks since he has good footballing brain,” Owu told WestGold Radio in an interview.
The league is currently on break with the second leg set to start in April.
