In-form Majeed Ashmeru powers Anderlecht to sweet home win
Ghana and Anderlecht playmaker Majeed Ashmeru powered Belgian giants Anderlecht to a comfortable 2-0 win over KRC Genk at the Lotto Park on Sunday evening.
The playmaker continued his fine form with a magnificent finish 36 minutes into the game to break the virginity of the game.
Yari Verschaeren doubled the lead for the home side 4 minutes to the break.
Ashmeru’s incredible form this season dates back to when he inspired the side to record a 4-2 home win over Beerschot in October last year. Ashmeru scored in that game.
He continued with another beautiful finish and a brilliant strike in December in their 2-0 win over Sint-Truiden.
The former WAFA play maker steered the side to a 4-1 home win over AS Eupen in a game he was named the most valuable player.
With today’s performance, the Ghanaian has announced his return to top form after his wonderful loan stint with St. Gallen in Switzerland.
