Nana Yaw Amponsah reacts to people questioning his recruitment policy
Nana Yaw Amponsah, Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, has reacted to people questioning his recruitment policy.
After 18 games, the Porcupine Warriors lead the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League with 40 points.
In an interview, Nana Yaw Amponsah expresses a lack of appreciation for his recruitment ability.
“People don’t respect expertise in Ghana,” but claims “it only spurs me on. It’s only when someone doesn’t know you that’s when he calls you that guy,” he said on Oyerepa FM.
“Recruitment can go right or wrong. What people don’t know is that there are players you buy buy to satisfy fans or players you buy because you believe they will deliver for you… in your recruitment you must have the balance right,” he added.
Nana Yaw Amponsah was appointed to head Asante Kotoko on a three-year contract in August 2020.
Two signings from Cameroon Mfegue Omgba and Mbella Etouga are currently pushing the Porcupine Warriors towards a possible league title win.
