Nigeria defender Troost-Ekong charges NFF to ensure Abuja Stadium pitch is in good condition for Ghana clash

Nigeria defender, William Troost-Ekong has urged the football federation to see to it that the Abuja Stadium pitch is in good shape at the time the clash against Ghana will be played.

The Super Eagles will engage the Black Stars in a two-legged encounter in March in the final phase of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

Ahead of the game, William Troost-Ekong who recounts some good memories at the Abuja Stadium wants the pitch to be put in the best condition possible.

“We loved the pitch of the stadium in Garoua and it helped us play some good football.

“We would be delighted if the Abuja Stadium is in similar condition for the second leg,” the Nigeria vice-captain said in an interview.

Ghana is expected to host the first leg of the crucial meeting between the Black Stars and the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 24.

Days later, the Abuja Stadium will host the reverse fixture.
