Our group is okay – Ghana coach CK Akonnor reacts to AFCON draw
Ghana coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor is satisfied with the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations draw as he strongly believes the game has advanced.
Ghana have been paired in Group C of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations alongside Morocco and Comoros.
Speaking to TV3, Akonnor disclosed he was not expecting a weaker opposition at the event since football has evolved.
“I think the draw is okay. I didn’t come here [to Cameroon] with expectations of which group I want to be in or not. Nowadays football is evolving and so you cannot expect weaker things”, he stated.
Ghana has failed to lift the covetous trophy since 1982 and will be hoping to annex it in Cameroon.
The Black Stars will start their campaign against Morocco in January 2022 before taking on Gabon and Comoros.
