Salah among six finalists for the Global Soccer Men’s Best Player Award

Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian and Liverpool icon, is one of six contenders for the Men’s Best Player Award at the 2021 Globe Soccer Awards.

The European Club Association, in collaboration with the European Association of Player’s Agents, organises the Globe Soccer Awards each year.

Salah was named to the 2021 event and competed for the Best Player of the Year Award against Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema, and Romelu Lukaku, to name a few.

Globe Soccer announced the finalists for the Best Men’s Player of the Year Award on Monday, which included the Egyptian.

The 29-year-old will battle Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi in the competition.

Despite failing to win a trophy with Liverpool or Egypt in 2021, Salah has had a fantastic year on an individual level. Across all competitions, the Egyptian found the back of the net 16 times in the second half of the 2020/2021 season.

He has continued where he left off this season, scoring 21 goals in 22 appearances and now leading the Premier League scoring charts with 11 goals. He also has the most assists in the league, with nine.
