Solomon Asante close to Berekum Chelsea return

Winger Solomon Asante is close to returning to Berekum Chelsea after ending his spell with USL side Phoenix Rising Football Club.

The Ghanaian winger on Tuesday confirmed he has left the club after a successful three year spell with the club.

According to report in the media, the winger is close to returning to Berekum Chelsea for the second of the Ghana Premier League.

Asante featured for the Ghana Premier League side in 2011 before moving to TP Mazembe.

Source close to the club has told FMIG the player could return to the club for the second round of the Ghana Premier League.

Solomon Asante made 114 appearances in all competitions for Phoenix Rising FC throughout his stay with the club.

He has had a goal contribution of 97 in all competitions for the club with 54 goals and 43 assists in total throughout his four year stay with the club.

Solomon Asante won the USL Championship title with the side as well as a golden boot award in the 2019 USL Championship season

The former Berekum Chelsea winger made history to become the first ever player to win back to back MVP award in the USL Championship history.
