“We are not underdogs” – Legon Cities coach Bashir Hayford warns Hearts of Oak
Head coach of Legon Cities Bashir Hayford has insisted they will not accept the underdog tag ahead of their crunch fixture against League leaders Hearts of Oak.
Legon Cities will look horns with the Phoabians on Thursday in a match-day 30 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak, have been impressive in the last six games of Ghana premier league , winning five and drawing one.
The Royals have also turned their season around after a poor start to the season, moving from the drop zone.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the game, Hayford believes his charges have what it takes to stop the Phobians on Thursday.
“This is a big game but for us, we are just taking it to be one of the games ahead. We have prepared and trained extra hard for it. We know what is ahead of us and we are ready for it. We will go all out for three points, ” Hayford said at a presser ahead of the game.
“We are not going into this game as the underdogs. Not at all. We don’t need to be termed as the underdogs. This will be a very difficult game, of course. If we go into the game with the right mentality, mindset and attitude, we can win.”
The game will kick off at 6 pm local time.
