We can win AFCON under Kurt Okraku’s administration – Former GFA Veep

Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), George Akwasi Afriyie says  Black Stars my end their AFCON title drought under Kurt Okraku’s administration.

The four-time African Champions have not bee able to lift the African showpiece since 1982.

Ghana has since lost the final on three occasions 1992, 2010 and 2015.

The Black Stars will be hoping to end the drought in the next edition after sealing their qualifications on Sunday.

A lot of people have raised doubt about the chances of CK Akonnor’s side due to their recent performance.

But Speaking in an interview with Nhyira FM, the former GFA Veep stated it’s possible the Black Stars could conquer the continent in Cameroon and  finally break our 38 years drought.

“We have not been able to win the Afcon from 2008. I will attribute it to sheer luck. In 2010 and 2015 it was just not for us in that era,”

“We may win it under this Kurt Okraku’s management where the perception is we have a poor team which is not in the best of shape as compared to years before” the former Black Stars management Committee chairman added.
