We won’t feel the absence of Wilfred Ndidi – Austin Eguavoen
Nigeria coach Austin Eguavoen has stated that injured Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi’s absence will not be felt when Nigeria takes on the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday in Kumasi.
Eguavoen revealed at a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday ahead of their departure to Ghana that he has a handful of players who can play his position and that whoever he chooses to replace the injured midfielder would give him what he expects.
He also wished the Leicester midfielder speedy recovery.
“We wish Ndidi speedy recovery. He is an important player for the national team. I know how important he is to us but his absence is not going to change anything. We have a couple of players who can play in that position. The philosophy will not change, style of play will not change, only personnel will change,” he said.
Ndidi picked up a knee injury in Leicester City’s UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Stade Rennes last week. He has been replaced by Innocent Bonke.
