With focus and unity Ghana can beat Nigeria – Prosper Harrison Addo
Prosper Harrison Addo General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association has stated that this is not the time to blame the FA after Ghana’s poor performance at the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations.
He added that the playoff game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria should be our focus and with unity, Ghana can claim the spot to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Prosper Harrison Addo was speaking to local radio station Light FM about the upcoming world cup playoff, Black Stars, Ghana Premier League, and officiating.
“This is not the time to shift blames on the gfa but with focus and unity Ghana can beat Nigeria because worldcup brings a lot of benefits so Ghana should do all things possible and qualify,” he said.
“It’s high time Ghanaians show support and motivate the players because with the love of Ghanaians the players can die for the nation,”
Mr. Addo revealed that the Ghana Football Association wanted to give young players the platform to develop that’s why the FA allowed Ghana Premier League clubs to register 10 young players.
“The motive of the gfa was to ensure that clubs give platform for the young talents that’s why we allowed clubs to register ten junior players which in the long round it will benefit the national teams and one player I can praise is Isaac Oppong of Asante Kotoko,”
He also said the FA wants transparency in their activities which is why they publish findings on referees and urged Ghanaians to have faith in them.
“The gfa wants Ghanaians to have faith in them that is why they publish the finding out and that clubs should write official report to the gfa if they feel they are cheated,”
The General Secretary added that The FA is doing everything they can to secure a headline sponsor and called for companies to assist them so that most games can be played at night.
“the GFA is doing everything possible best to have one but for now all the necessary requirements for referees has been provided to ensure that the referees officiate professionally,”
“GFA pay the fuel price in every game played in the night and that companies can be on board especially for fuel so that most of the matches are played at night,” he concluded.
