Fear grips residents of Yendi as arm robbery case count up to four in a month.

Residents of Yendi in the northern region has been in fears as arm robbery cases count up to four (4) within the month of August, 2022.

The first case involved a gentleman called Alhassan believe to be in his early 30s who was killed by the arm robbers and make away his motorbike and mobile phone.

As at now rumour had it that a suspect has been arrested last night, September 1, 2022 at Gushegu a farming community in the same northern region in connection with the first case.

Secondly, Mohammed Abdul Jalil was also killed on Monday August 29, 2022 and make away motorbike and mobile phone. He was a twenty six years old man and no arrest have been made in connection to the second arm robbery.

The third and fourth one happened last night September 1, 2022 and it involved two business women who operates clothing’s stores on the Gushegu road direct opposite old Chereponi station and beside district assembly main office respectively.

The arm robbers goes through the store by cutting the metal container and make away items worth thousands with a sewing machine belonging to her care taker.

Lastly, Madam Ayisha Sayibu store was cut off likely enough she was able to take home some of her clothes and the arm robbers make away items worth hundreds and disorganized her entire store which many think they were searching for money.

Many people are wondering what could be the cause while others think it could be terrorist that has come in different fold.

Other set of people also have the view that it could be the fraud boys who are no more making it from the fraud are now using such means to earned a living

Meanwhile authorities in the community with security personnel are yet to determine the way forward in curbing the arm robbery.
