Former Aviation Minister, Kofi Adda reported dead

Vida Essel-LampteyThe Former Member of Parliament for the Navrongo Constituency and former Minister of Aviation, Mr Joseph Kofi Adda has been reported dead.
Report said the astute New Patriotic Party(NPP) politician died on Thursday, October 13.
He died at the Legon Hospital in Accra at age 65.
Affectionately called Kofi Adda in the Ghanaian political space, he left behind a wife and two children.
Profile Kofi Adda
Mr Joseph Kofi Adda hail from Navrongo in the Kassena-Nankana District of the Upper East Region.
He was born in April 22, 1956 and first represented the people of the Navrongo Constituency in 2003 through a by-election.
Mr Adda retained the seat in 2004 and 2008, respectively, however lost it to the National Democratic Congress’ Mark Woyonko in 2012.
The NPP stalwart is a Financial Economist and a Management Consultant by profession and had years of experiences spanning across boundaries, notable, his homeland Ghana, West Africa and in the United State of America.
In Ghana and in politics, he had served in numerous capacities including a one-time Minister of Energy as well as a Minister of Manpower Development and Employment under the John Agyekum Kufour Administration.
He has also worked as the Executive officer at the Ministry of Trade and Industry and worked in various capacities at the Ministry of Finance.
In 2017, Mr Adda was appointed by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as Ghana’s Minister of Aviation and held the position until early this year.
Educational Background
Mr Joseph Kofi Adda had his secondary school education at the St. John’s School located at Ghana’s twin city Sekondi- Takordi in the Western Region.
He holds a Bachelor Degree in Politics and Economics from Indiana Wesleyan University, United State of America, Masters Degree in International Affairs, Finance and Banking option as well as Graduate Certificate of African Studies from the Columbia University, New York.
The Ghanaian politician also holds a certificate in French Language and Civilization from the Sorbonne University in Paris, France.
