'Keep up the good work' : NPP’s George Ayisi tells Jonnie Hughes for slamming gov't

The New Patriotic Party(NPP) Communication team member, Mr George Ayisi has commended TV3 NewDay host, Mr Jonnie Beresford Hughes for his constant criticism of the government.

According to him, although, Jonnie Hughes criticisms are sometimes very harsh or unkind, it is for the good of the country and urged him to “Keep up the good work”

Mr Ayisi opined government may disagree with the renowned broadcaster’s position on certain issues but that does not necessary mean he was wrong in whatever he was doing.

The biting is hard and good but is for our common good, all of us as a people and as nation so we will not begrudge you on that. It part of the editorial policy of the station that to guide the nation to trek the right cause. And so yes, we may disagree but it doesn’t mean what you are doing is wrong so keep up the good work”, Mr Ayisi told Jonnie Hughes.

Mr Ayisi made the commendation on TV3 NewDay on Wednesday, December 8, monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

Mr Ayisi, a  Public Relations officer of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) revealed staffs of NADMO, a government of Ghana insititution have finally been issued identification cards, a development, Mr Hughes have complained about on his platform for some three years now.

The renowned Media General broadcaster and host of NewDay, Jonnie Beresford Hughes have been critical of the government, questioning them on virtually every promise they have made to Ghanaians before and after their assumption of office.

Through his segment on the NewDay, dubbed “Jonnie’s Bite” he has been very vocal on developmental issues that have direct impact on the lives of the citizenry.

Jonnie’s Bite focuses on topical issues in the areas of health, education, peace and security, governance and most importantly, youth employment.
