Leave the public sector for the youth if you are not happy with your salary – CPP Communicator tells Public Sector workers

A Member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP)’s Communication Team, Mr Sylvester Soprano Sarpong has descended heavily on Ghanaian Public Sector workers following agitations over the 4% salary increment awarded them by the government.

According to him, they should leave the sector for the teaming unemployed youth of the country if they were not happy with the salaries.

Mr Soprano Sarpong made the comment on Pan African Television’s current affairs programme, Good Morning Africa on July 27 monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

He noted since time in memorial, the public sector workers had  been the sole beneficiaries of the country’s resources, consuming an  approximately 70% of it and wondered why same persons would always and almost all the time be on strike demanding for more.

He added if they were not so pleased with their salaries, they should join the private sector and leave their post for the unemployed youth to occupy.

“Kwame, this is very important, I am saying again, I want to reiterate that the benefit that use to accrue to colonial occupation forces are what is going to the public service people right now and they are still not satisfied”.

“……..Why are we using 70% of our resources to sponsor only 660,000 Ghanaians and every year this public sector guys go on strike. Every year, they are not happy with their pay. Well if they are not happy with their pay, why don’t they move into the private sector so some of the youth who are unemployed right now can move into the public sector,” he lamented.
