Special Prosecutor’s office to employ 250 staff by end of January – Kissi Agyebeng

The Special Prosecutor’s office will employ some Two Hundred and Fifty(250) staff by the end of January, next year.

Again, the office would also engage in a massive recruitment drive within the same period to set up all other offices as provided by the special prosecutors act.

The Special Prosecutor, Mr Kissi Agyebeng made the comment on Starr Chat on Starr FM on Wednesday, September 29 monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

According to him, his office had already begun processes for the employment into the various position needed to effectively run its day to day activities adding that what was left was a board to approve the appointment.

“By end of January immediately, I get the board, by end of January am going to have at least 250 staffs. I have applications from all over, applications are still coming in respect of the various positions and we are going to do a massive recruitment drive within that period. We are in the process of doing all that but because I don’t have a board I can’t roll out that you have been appointed, you have been appointed, I will be acting illegally so I have to wait for the board,” he said.

“I said two things will happen. The recruitment and the creation of more divisions so under the act we have finance and administration division, we have investigative division, we have the prosecution division and the asset recovery and management division and this act leaves it out that the office can establish more divisions,” he added.
